Please note: this is a latest generation OPTI Active Gate rotator. It can also be used on older Solar projectors (which have 12V side outlets) using the optional Adapter Cable which is not included.
Not suitable for Aura
This item is NOT compatible with the OPTI Aura projector.
This variable speed and direction Wheel Rotator fits to an OPTI Solar projector and rotates a 6" effect wheel. Note that you'll also need a connecting cable if you have an older Solar projector - it's not included.
A toggle switch on the side controls the direction of rotation while a rotary dial sets the speed. A variable speed rotator is essential to get the best results out of a Liquid effect as small adjustments to speed can make a significant difference to the effect achieved. Each wheel is different and may suit a different speed.
Please note that the rotator comes with a magnetic wheel adaptor fitted as standard. If you're using old style 'bossed' wheels you can simply remove the magnetic adaptor using the included Allen key. Read more about magnetic effect wheels.
Please note: The OPTI magnetic adapter now includes a 'pin' on the front which goes into the hole on the magnet of current OPTI wheels. The pin is intended to reduce slippage when running liquid wheels which can occur as the oils moves and changes the centre of gravity.
If you are using old wheels or non-OPTI wheels without the hole in the magnet, you'll need to remove the pin by pulling it out firmly with pliers or pushing it through from behind using a narrow implement such as a nail and a tap from a hammer.
